Paul Stone was born with extraordinary talent in his hands - athletically he uses his right hand and in painting, his left. In his paintings he demonstrates a parallel versatility. Precisely painted buildings coexist comfortably with ambiguous foregrounds, clouds and trees. Thinly painted passages are contrasted with passages of thick impasto. Paul is attracted to landscape because of its character, by its history, its form, and its content - all of which resonate with him personally.
